    suckerPUNCH: describe your project.

ayala SERFATY: … i study natural phenomena closely, looking for the core or essence. i spent few years translating structures, membranes and principles that i found in nature: stalagmites and stalactites, clouds, blood vessels in the body. i used this research to compose my own dictionary of shapes, and then crystallized it into the work. the process is very meditative, and so is the outcome. soma is an abstraction that is open to many interpretations, many of which i never thought of… i am making soma out of glass and polymer.

glass being one of the most ancient materials used by men while polymer is one of the most contemporary. apart from the authenticity they create by merging into soma, it was my intention to merge the primary with the latest.
