suckerPUNCH: describe your project
drfranken: Nastplas is a studio of digital art illustration and Madrid (Spain). We all create pictures with different techniques such as Airbrush, 3D, Fractal Art, matte painting, vector art. Demeter is our latest project. The idea was to create an illustration with a natural essence and delicate basing on the natural environment. In this project we worked several weeks to achieve the end result we wanted.
At first we thought about the need to fuse a human figure with a natural environment, so we chose a female figure. To achieve this illustration, we use various techniques such as 3D and masking layers for the creation of vegetation.
Demeter is a union of natural elements that lead to the creation of this image inspired by the Greek goddess “Demeter” ‘mother goddess’ or the Greek goddess of agriculture, pure nourishing young green earth, life-giving cycle of life and death, and protector of marriage and the sacred law.
sP: what or who influenced this project?
drfranken: We really wanted to make an image inspired by natural
surroundings and with a certain symbolism.
sP: what were you reading/listening to/watching while developing this project?
drfranken: When I work, I usually listen to the album “The Core” by artist
Thomas Huttenlocher aka “I Awake.” It relaxes and inspires me profoundly.
sP: whose work is currently on your radar?
drfranken: There are many artists that I love. We show in our blog
nastplas.com/blog the best artists in the world.
