herzog and de meuron’s winery features a facade composed of a cage of stones arranged from heaviest at the top to lightest at the bottom. The modern form of rustication creates a dappled lighting effect on the interior.

Dominus only provides tours of the facility once a month. I just attended a tour in November, very cool interior as well as exterior. The office spaces are very transparent, looking out to the vineyard and create beautiful reflections as you move around the spaces. The light filtering through the rock basket facade is beautiful in the low afternoon sun, projecting thousands of streams of light through the facade into the interior spaces. Wonderful little tasting room, dimly lit, looks into one of their cellars. They do not offer tasting to the tours and it is a winery facility, they do not have a gift shop. The building is massive in size compared to its feel in images. Great tour, I would suggest to those interested, but schedule in advance as monthly tours max out at around 20 people.
