    suckerPUNCH: describe your project.

matthew MOORE: A brand new series of three 18″x12″ posters. Printed on heavy stock, signed & numbered (x/100), and shipped in sturdy tubes. The graphics are inspired by classic Rorschach Tests, with hyper-colorful and psychedelic twists. The really fun part for me is that when asked “What do you see?” everyone has a different response.

sP: what or who influenced this project?

mM: I did some research into the classic Rorschach Ink Blot Tests, and the ways to decipher the reactions you get from folks while they look at them. Really fascinating stuff. Especially for me as an abstract artist. The majority of my work evokes reactions I could never have predicted. Everyone sees something different. So it was a natural step to create a series that asks people to dive in and imagine what it could be to them.

sP: whose work is currently on your radar?

mM: I just returned from a trip to St. Croix (US Virgin Islands) with my girlfriend. It was a lot of fun learning more about the island culture, crafts, traditions, and arts. Very rich colors and vibrant designs. Nothing is grey, and there are tropical plants growing from every crack in the sidewalk. This is currently inspiring me, both in my work and in my mindset. I’ve also been reading more about a few of my heroes : Picasso, MC Escher, and Dondi White. Masters!
