    wolfgang TSCHAPELLER: The Centre for Promotion of Sciences in Belgrade will be floating high above the ground. It operates on 3 levels. Firstly, on the level of the City of Belgrade it will be an optimistic sign positioned on one of the main routes of the city. Secondly for Blok 39 it will be sign, canopy and portico. Thirdly, as a building being programmed to promote sciences it (dis)plays on visions of technology and construction.

    Malick’s latest is an ambitious stunner. The film builds through surreal cuts, flashbacks, and flashforwards spanning the lifespan of the earth. Emmanuel Lubezki’s Cinematography is breathtaking. The return of Doug Trumbull’s work to the big screen brings a fantastic texture and layer to the film with his insistence on in camera effects. Hopefully Malick keeps up his current pace…

    Jewelry are made out of perspex, silver and resin.

    brennan BUCK + david FREELANDThe house is sited in the woods in Maine, and we were interested in the dense spatial condition of the forest. The house is designed to strike a precise balance between solid and void. As a result, the footprint is integrated with its site through porosity rather than topological continuity. The weave of exterior and interior space infuses the periodically occupied house with color and light that change hue and intensity with the seasons.

    andrei VLAS + horea RACASAN: The contemporary Art Center represents our 4th year of study project, the design theme was a cultural center with a Boutique Hotel, student housing, library,restaurants, cafes and a contemporary art museum. The site is located in the historical center of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, next to the river Somes. The old building had been a synagogue many years ago, and had to be kept.

    james KHAMSI: The project is a prototype for a bike storage shelter that can be installed throughout south London. It is made with thin, steel rods that are formed using cnc-benders. The steel rods form a structural surface, from which a colored weather proof membrane is hung to shelter the bikes from rain.

    laurel CHRISTENSEN: Glowb is a self-contained night light made of a single, laser cut sheet of heavy duty blue poster board painted silver on the outside. The Glowb emits a light blue glow when turned on in a dark room, while the cut-out shapes project playful patterns of light on surrounding surfaces, creating a fun and dynamic night time environment. Glowbs can be grouped to intensify this effect.

    patrick VOGEL: Biolosophy is design for the next German Expo-Pavilion in 2015 Milan. The topic of this Expo is “Feeding the planet – Energy for life”. So the pavilion consists of special beams and columns to cultivate algae in it. The whole form emerges out of a cellular Voronoi-system and creates smaller subcells, used as the main exhibition-rooms. The general idea behind the pavilion was, to “create something that creates something”. So in this case, the Biolosophy produces algae, that you can eat and use for many different other things…
