suckerPUNCH: Describe your project.
daniel REIST: The next centuries cities are growing radical, and the main focus of this project was to provide an option against urban sprawl. The redensification or recreation of downtown Los Angeles as a kind of test field for the whole city, is the scenario for my proposal.
By questioning the idea if we can pre-desing massive urban structures, or if we even should try, I came up with the idea adding more circulation layers to the existing high rise structure of LA. The new infrastructure and circulation areas are interacting with the existing buildings. The logic behind the interaction is a parasitic one. The system is not killing the given local structures, it is reusing, redeveloping them.
