In(herit)age Advanced Architectural Design Workshop is the first of a series of international traveling workshops based on the academic education given in the Postgraduate Program Urban Strategies. The aim is to train students outside of the educational facilities in using new tools for the conceptualization, design and development of architecture through researching latent topics embedded in the contemporary discussions within the discipline. No previous experience with 3-D modeling and visualization software that will be taught and used during the workshop is needed.
It is conducted under the auspices of the Urban Strategies Postgraduate Program at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the Official Chamber of Architects of Granada. To facilitate a wide range of inputs, teachers from several universities are contributing to the program.
The Urban Strategies Traveling Workshop is a 10 days teaching format, which offers an opportunity for architects, students of Architecture or young professional designers and artists, to learn new methods and tools related to recent and evolving topics of the architectural discipline.
In(herit)age opens a field of discourse by redesigning the interior of the Sacristy of the Cartuja monastery in Granada, which stands for one of the most exuberant expressions of Baroque architecture in Spain. Designed by Hurtado Izquierdo it was further developed by other architects over a period of more than 30 years between 1727 and 1764.
