    suckerPUNCH: Describe your project.

Power Agents (Francesco LANCIOTTI, Ervis LAPI, Davide MINUTELLI, & Alessandra POLI): Cataclysm is a disaster caused by natural phenomenon, in this case caused by man-kind who is becoming a geological factor, able to pour out events that have always belonged to nature.

Using a bottom-up methodology we studied the paradigm of rivers creation and weather erosion process as new approaches for sustainable housing and developed this project in the mountainous area in the South of Maribor, in which an integrated urban complex will rise.

Weather erosion processes produce ground transformations, bringing favorable conditions and new spaces for a wide biodiversity.
Similarly, the project exploits ground’s splits (caused by river formation dynamics simulated through agent-based algorithms), developing itself on the inside and making use of the outline as a boundary.

Light and air are captured by pyramid-shaped components equipped with slits, which change form and orientation according to weather conditions (wind and irradiation), finding an equitable configuration.

Exteriorly, the presence of capturing cones is translated into a pattern whose altimetric-profile is managed by a height’s gradient, relatively to distance from paths; these are gained from erosion’s secondary alterations, and their function is a consequence of extent.
Interiorly, floors’ developing is managed by parameters as light and air penetration, which define their rearward and height; floors’ continuous processing answers to carrying capacity and connections.
