    SCI-Arc is pleased to announce the 2013 Graduate Thesis Weekend & Graduation Ceremony, taking place September 6-8, 2013 on the SCI-Arc campus in downtown Los Angeles.

    A culmination of up to three years of study and coursework leading toward the Master of Architecture and M.Des.R post-graduate degrees, this public three-day event has students presenting their final projects to critics from all over the world and culminates with an all-school commencement ceremony for both undergrads and grads.

    In addition to attending presentations and reviews, participants and guests can also tour the school and its facilities.

    On Sunday, September 8, starting 5pm, students, their families and guests are invited to participate in the all-school graduation ceremony, where degrees are conferred to graduating students in the B.Arch, M.Arch and M.Des.R. post-graduate programs. Reception will follow.

    SCI-Arc Thesis Weekend Presentations
    SCI-Arc’s commencement speakers this year are Jean-Louis Cohen, architect and Sheldon H. Solow Professor in the history of architecture at the Institute of Fine Arts in New York, and Eva Franch, principal of OOAA in Barcelona, and executive director and chief curator of the Storefront for Art and Architecture, New York.

    This year, the graduation ceremony will be held in the new “League of Shadows” pavilion designed and built by design faculty Marcelo Spina and Georgina Huljich of P-A-T-T-E-R-N-S, with the help of a transformative grant from ArtPlace.

    Graduate thesis projects will remain on view throughout the school until September 15, 2013. In addition, a special Selected Thesis Exhibition will be on display September 16-26.
