suckerPUNCH: Describe your project.
Mete YAFET, Tufan DEMIR, Gökhan OKUYUCU, & Erdem DILBAZ: Passing Through The Glass is a commercial fashion video-mapping installation specifically prepared for the launch event of the new Mavi Jeans series designed by Hussein Chalayan. nerdworking was commisioned by Mavi to represent their collection in a different way, unlike standard catwalk or runway fashion shows.
In collaboration with nerdworking, tin (architecture), Hipo (stage design), Bench Studio (video production), we proudly present this experimental holographic video mapping installation.
sP: What or who influenced this project?
MY: The main idea behind the project started with the approach of our stage designer Gokhan Okuyucu and our producer Erdem Dilbaz on creating a holographic catwalk, later I suggested to reposition the glasses for a wider cinematic look and tried to avoid any technical difficulty we might experience since we had little time to shoot and edit for a 9-layered look.
sP: What were you reading/listening to/watching while developing this project?
MY: I guess the theme song for the project, produced by our beloved DJ/Producer friend Tufan Demir, was the only hit we were into that time!
sP: Whose work is currently on your radar?
MY: I’ve been in love with Timothy J.Reynolds ‘s low poly 3-D illustrations for quite some time.
ED: rAndom International, Quayola, Cod.Act are on my radar nowadays.
