    7.30 p.m. / MakerBot Store
    298 Mulberry Street
    New York, NY 10012

    [RSVP]

In addition to being the co-owner of Simplus Design, Misiurek is the assistant director of Digital Futures at Pratt Institute’s Undergraduate Architecture program. Misiurek believes that 3-D printing has improved the connection between ideas and reality and he is a strong proponent of 3-D printing as a means for connecting ideas with the physical world. The MakerBot Innovator Session is open to the public and visitors are invited to hear Misiurek speak about how 3-D printing is revolutionizing the process of “making.” The lecture will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the New York City MakerBot Store, located at 298 Mulberry Street (between Bleeker and Houston Streets). Admission is free, but space is limited and pre-registration is required [HERE].

“3-D printing allows creative people in a number of fields, such as architecture and product design, to effortlessly translate digital prototypes and models from their computer screen into the real world,” stated Misiurek. “Being able to see your ideas prototyped by a 3-D printer bridges the gap between conception and production and makes it easier to integrate abstract ideas into tangible creations.”

“We love how Sebastian and his team have taken 3-D printing and incorporated it into items used everyday,” noted Bre Pettis, CEO of MakerBot. “Sculptural plant vases, geometric napkin rings, and useful objects are made beautifully and easily through the use of 3-D printing.”

Misiurek’s lecture will explore not only his own experience with 3-D printing, but how different fields of work continue to be influenced by 3-D printing technology. Photos of Misiurek’s work are available at [simplusdesign.com] or [sebastianmisiurek.com].
