    suckerPUNCH: Describe your project.
Emilija LANDSBERGIS: The water-color landscape borrows from the “carving” technique of the tower with figures traced from water-color splatter techniques such as blotting and streaming.

The splatter techniques become three-dimensionalized to create a pedestrian path along the site and reflecting ponds within the landscape. The path runs through the 3 sets of quadrants, that are guided by a “quilted” patterning to create a set of relations among different programmed elements of the site. The carving of the water-color figures create traditional romantic landscape elements such as ha-ha’s and hedges within the synthetic nature of the site. The figures of the water-color are only recognizable in the topography of the site as the transition of the water-color to the digital abstracts the images through bitmaps and voxels. The bitmap and voxels take the color palette of the watercolor, but the interpretation of the images abstracts all but the specific hues. The bitmap and voxels become architecturalized into three-dimensional landscape elements – “bitmap forest” and “voxel cliffs”. However, along the path of the walkway the voxels and bitmaps remain graphics within their quadrants.
