    suckerPUNCH: Describe your project.
Vamsi KRISHNA VEMURI: The incessant grid, flowing endlessly through varied realms is disrupted, transforming thy serenely static resolution…

…into a symphony of higher and lower resolutions, orchestrating a new array of emerging grids, by inducing superimpositions, interlaces, rotations and friction between multiple grids. These transfigurations ingress disparate relationships and affiliations, an intensive coherence forged out of incongruity.

The Project Oscillating Resolution is a spatial and syntactic design exploration, constructed with 2D grid assemblies and 3D voxelated geometries. This voxel grid specific experimentation focuses on addressing the emergent spatial mediations conceived upon oscillating the digital resolutions, by producing characteristics of scalar resolution shifts, a medium specific phenomenon of aliasing and anti – aliasing, ambiguity in depth, textural disruption of resolution and most importantly the phenomenon of Flatness as a temporal low resolution in conjunction to John Hejduk’s classical argument of flatness in drawings and Architecture.
The experiments are conducted in three levels of mass, texture and detail – using a series of voxelated crystals, that are articulated with a texture grid and the dramatics of the friction with the surface to texture, the interplay between these different bodies results in the above said medium specific effects.
The architectural program was a building proposal housing classrooms and labs, and it begun by deconstructing the precedent project – Hejduk’s Wall house II. The disseminated wall house project was devised into a set of parts, reorganized by producing multiple spatial configurations using the studio-based video game produced by Damjan Jovanovic. A selected configuration is voxelated using the formulated strategies and situates itself as the finished Architectural project.
The drawings and spaces accentuate the temporalities and mediations, as the interlaced high resolution Hejduk’s figure is confronted with the new emergent voxelated figures. The voxels trickle between scales and form the new high-resolution figure causing disruptions in resolution.
