Starting with the winter semester 2011/12 Hani Rashid will head the Studio Architekturentwurf (architectural design) 3 at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.

Hani Rashid’s studio will focus on students working to develop conceptual, practical and critical skills and means for the making of new, compelling and forward thinking architecture. The studio focus will move between architecture as object to environment and phenomena. Operative terms in this studio include architecture as atmospheric experience, architecture as fetishized artifacts, architecture and new forms of dwelling and being, and architecture as an aesthetic, philosophical and metaphysical experience.

phaidon: asymptote presents a seamless trajectory of projects organized in a non-linear fashion and illustrated with installation photographs, collaged photographs, and computer-generated diagrams and environments. the projects are punctuated with descriptive text and the speculative writing for which asymptote is known. both partners combine architectural practice with teaching and this is strikingly evident in the accessible and thought-provoking result of asymptote.
