anne FORSCHNER: Lovos (Lifestyle of Voluntary Simplicity) is based on a philosophical idea, which asks critical questions about the design, construction and use of road vehicles, as we know them today. The world we live in is increasingly complex and we move within multifaceted social structures, hardly noticing that we perhaps lack an overview over how products and services influence and overwhelm us.

PRESS RELEASE: Mercedes-Benz BIOME: an Ultralight Vehicle at One with Nature

At this year’s Los Angeles Design Challenge, the designers from the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studios in Carlsbad, California, surprised everyone with a revolutionary vision. Taking their inspiration from nature, they designed a vehicle which is fully integrated into the ecosystem, from the moment of its creation right through to the end of its service life. The Mercedes-Benz BIOME grows in a completely organic environment from seeds sown in a nursery. Out on the road the car emits pure oxygen, and at the end of its lifespan it can be simply composted or used as building material.

DeZir is the first project to be led by Laurens van den Acker and marks the implementation of the strategy based on the notion of ‘life cycle’. The first step involves falling in love, an experience that is perfectly illustrated by DeZir’s powerful, sensuous styling and bright red finish; red being the colour associated with passion.

gabriel TAM: Peregrinate is a chauffeur driven vehicle for designer boutique hotels. A low volume tailored vehicle design to transport hotel guest to and from the hotel to their chosen destination. The concept seeks to enhance and extend the unique hotel experience beyond the realm of traditional architectural structure, taking the intimate and personalize design on the road. Personal transportation in the future will become more specialized with design tailored for a one-of-a-kind travel experience. The vehicle will become less driver orientated with the focus returning to the overall com­fort and experience of the occupants.

The vehicle incorporating Adidas and other future relevant technologies looks to create a unique off road experience that challenges the user in a number of key skills found in sport.

PRESS RELEASE: This revolutionary three wheeled battery electric vehicle concept shows what a future minimal urban transport vehicle for one person might look like. The battery electric drivetrain is mounted low in the three wheeled chassis, therefore keeping the centre of gravity low and thus improving stability.

The 3R-C has a clear canopy that covers the driver’s seat while it is parked and not in use. When 3R-C vehicle is in motion, the canopy becomes an enveloping wind-shield that provides the pilot, who sits low in the vehicle, with significant protection from the bodywork and doors.

slavche TANEVSKI: the lamborghini ladura was done as part of the Lamborghini Raw Materials Project led by prof. dr. othmar wickenheiser, where all students at the school could take part in. the feruccio lamborghini’s appreciation to spanish culture and bull fighting/running led to naming all amborghini cars after some famous bulls or some places or families connected to bulls. respecting this fradition, the car is named after the island in indonesia, which is famous for bull races. the madura is a proposal for the first hybrid Lamborghini scheduled for 2016. doing a car more efficient and more nature-friendly, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be exciting, good-looking and fast. but in my opinion this new propulsion system should be represented on the looks of the car.
