splash is a collection of multiple, physical and virtual, prototypes materialized from an intensive formal series and structure of techniques. all displayed pieces in the gallery will reside in an existing completed location, a house; the thinking tank for all the pieces to emerge from according to its specific use and function.

SUPERFRONT LA is proud to present excess | liquidity, an exhibit on the 5th floor of the pacific design center, during the inaugural art los angeles contemporary fair.
sited on the 5th floor of the pacific design center, excess | liquidity presents a survey of recent work by experimental architectural practice x|a, exploring liquid form as architectural vocabulary. x|a deploys film-maker’s special effects software to generate architectural form through animated movement and fluid behaviors. works are exhibited as physical prototypes, drawings, and animations.

maria KNUTSSON-HALL: the project is a transportation system evolving from a local scale. a system developed from an organ to a moving mechanical structure. i’m interested in different forms of movement within organs and the human body. and how these movements can be transformed into at mechanical structure.
i operated in the conditions of developing a body from an organ where the organs create a working system. i wanted to explore how a mechanical structure could parasite and integrate with a static housing structure. in this case the transportationsystem crawls into a static bonestructure and gives it life through movement.

erick CÁRCAMO & nefeli CHATZIMINA: we are interested in the exploration of form through accumulation assembly with extreme differentiation and exuberant reflections, refractions as special effects of surface. our research is based in the development of prosthetics through ideas of novelty, adequate complexi ties and the production of image as a vehicle to reconfiguring the perception of beauty and compensate absent functions, aesthetics. this project is based in buenos aires, argentina, to explore one of the densest –
