  • drive

Nicolas Winding Refn keeps upping the ante with his work, Drive seems promising with Ryan Gosling as a getaway driver, Ron Perlman, Carey Mulligan, and Albert Brooks as villain. Looks like it has plenty of grit, blood, and road rage.

Always the optimist, Lars Von Trier delivers his feel bad movie about two sisters, charlotte Gainsbourg and Kirsten Dunst, and the way they deal with the impeding end of the world. The teasers look stunning, shame Von Trier hasn’t gone to 3D. Fingers crossed for Antichrist 2 (might as well also use John Waters’s Odorma)…

Terrence Malick is on a tear, 2 movies in 6 years! Tree of Life couldn’t seem more overambitious, great to see him take it on. His films are some of the most beautifully shot of the second half of the 20th century. It divided the crowd at cannes but sP loves all his films so we’re ready to be dazzled.

The Olsen Twin’s sister escapes from a cult to reintegrate with her family. A comedy? No, but apparently her performance is astounding. Should be the perfect double feature with the Smurfs.
