    Farah NASRI: “Once Upon a Greek Goddess” is a collection of 6 rings. Each named after a Greek Goddess, the rings follow the concept of Plato’s The Symposium of them being able to fit into one another as if once separated by Zeus: “According to Greek Mythology, Humans were originally created with 4 arms, 4 legs, and a head with 2 faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into 2 separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves”—Plato’s The Symposium.

    SPRING/BREAK Art Show, the new curator-driven art fair during the Armory Arts Week. The fair will inhabit Old School, a four-story schoolhouse located in NoLIta from March 6–March 11, 2012.

    Featuring the projects of 23 curators, the show will abandon the traditional focus on galleries — offering a “break” from the typical art fair model — and showcase a range of New York City’s curatorial voices, all surrounding a single exhibition theme — Apocalist: A Brief History of The End.

    niccolò CASAS: The course of Tecniche di Modellazione Digitale at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna leads students through the basis of Digital and Parametric Design. The course is part of the School of Product Design at the Accademia, a school highly interested in crossing boundaries of traditional design searching for the convergence of multidisciplinary approaches.

    zbynek KRULICH: Installation Jewelry City was designed for the Czech association of jewelers UNOSTO and their presentation on Designblok’11. The object of installation reflects the contours of urban organism, clusters of buildings on the surface and engineering networks of the city underground. Jewelry City is composed of six modules that can be organised into various groups. Each module is self-supporting and offers space to accommodate 5 to 10 jewelry or small objects, it is welded from steel sticks, spheres, and metal parts. The installation was produced by Intebo and lit by iGuzzini Etna. Visual identity of UNOSTO by Jan Kloss.

    markéta RICHTEROVÁ: I presented my new collections in Superstudio at Designblok ’10. The event was held in Prague in October 2010 having water as its main thematic focus. The individual pieces of jewelry were scattered on a so-called Afloat installation by Zbyněk Krulich and looked like reflecting on water surface. They included Droplets and Bubbles earings made of clear perspex as well as Red Droplets made of epoxy and Black Droplets made of carbon fibres.

    markéta RICHTEROVÁ: the new collection of bracelets is a result of cooperation with texeternal company who have developed metallic woven fabric made of carbon fiber exclusively for markéta. carbon fibers have been produced for usage in space industry based on their qualities – hardness and minimal weight. while metallic fabric retains these qualities, metal coating adds shine and visual aesthetic of precious metals, such as gold and silver. fine scaly structure is a natural property of the fabric. collection was presented at the designblok’09 festival.
