suckerPUNCH: describe your project.
morten ANDERSEN: It´s a lot of canvas, lots of wood, stables, looots of colors and secret ingredients, flip that and you have a show to put on some ones walls for some one else to look at..
sP: what or who influenced this project?
mA: What I see, hear and communicate in daily life, especially what I feel comes thru a lot. I´m super sensitive.
I did several series of works for different shows the last years, and it´s only after having done a lot of work, that I can look at it finally from a distance and understand, that my feelings are super important in the proces of creating and shows a lot in the end. I didn´t think it would come thru so hard, but I can certaintly see after a while and looking back, it does, that´s good, tuff, but good.
sP: what were you reading/listening to/watching while developing this project?
mA: I was listening to a lot of Gangrene, Rakaa, M.E.D and so on when conducting this soloshow.. these guys´ lyrics really inspired a lot of the titles for the show. Also the colorscheme, some how I can listen to certain music and interpretate off of the music. Sounds, instruments, samples and looped rhytms inspire me a lot. I had some personal stuff going on at that time of creating the works, so a few of the songs are reflected in two of the major paintings, you even chose the one painting to be presented here. “Romance” was that painting, it has a “twin”, which bare the title “Violently thru the sky”. So I think if you do the math, putting these two title next to each other, you have my autumn mood for 2010 right there.. hmm.
sP: whose work is currently on your radar?
mA: I never check for so many other artists work actually, but I get a lot of inspiration from following my good friends and colleaques. I talk with them daily, chat it all up and plan fun and serious. Dennis Seide, Finbar DAC, Snik and Base 23 are true dope original artists who inspire me a lot, some of them more on a personal level and others of them artistically.
Check for them.
