michael SVIVOS — What I love about this project is the very simple deviations in a standard programmatic diagram produce a building that is both inside and outside. Through the many media surfaces and the facade treatment the project could actually operate like a shifting cloud, which could be quite beautiful. It’s great to see a project with a simple idea that actually uses that idea to make most of the decisions as the design is developed.
simon KIM — The volume is well-trained to its square limits, and displays exuberance in its grand spaces and in its walkable surfaces. The building is a concatenated series of large auditoria, signaling more of a public advocacy and less a workshop or lab. As signage or herald, it is successful in creating spaces of spectacle.
