    suckerPUNCH: Describe your project.

Roman HAJTMANEK, Lenka PETRAKOVA, Piotrek PROKOPOWICZ, & Viki SANDOR: Our project was to design a “Body Performance Centre” in Redhook, NYC at Pier 8.

The project was focusing on the Cirque du Soleil as the most groundbreaking body performance group these days.

The project was to develop the idea of “watch and being watched.” Within the performance centre the positions of visitors and artist are shifted and there is a constant exchange of stage and auditorium within the building. Visitors become visible toward the building’s outside; with this constant performance, like in Hitchcock’s Rear Window, life becomes the greatest theater for the city.

sP: What or who influenced this project?
RH, LP, PP, & VS: Mark Wigley, Hani Rashid, Reiner Zettl, Brian de Luna, and Sophie Luger.

sP: What were you reading/listening to/watching while developing this project?
RH, LP, PP, & VS: Listening to Ólafur Arnalds.

sP: Whose work is currently on your radar?
RH, LP, PP, & VS: Tomás Saraceno, Asymptote Architecture, and Neil Denari.
