    The “blossom-gate” by the Vienna-based designhouse prechteck defines a landmark to the entrance of the largest chinese myrtle garden in the City of Xiangyiang. Prechteck tries to reinvent the gate as an architectural typology underlining the connecting characteristics of a former dividing element. Formalistic Inspirations lay in the chinese tradition of Caligraphy, the context and its topographie and flower-blossoms as a theme for the garden.

    prechteck: Austrian architecture studio prechteck has proposed a concept plan that deals with the revitalization of Puerto Madero and development of the new contemporary art museum in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The design of the building draws influence from contextual associations like waves of the waterfront, or setting sail for the Fragata Sarmiento, where viewpoints of the main parameter are highlighted.

    suckerPUNCH: describe your project.

    chris PRECHT: prechteck’s design proposal for the extension to the national library of Austria located at the Hofburg in Vienna contains a number of cultural facilities, creative studios, a restaurant and shops. 
straddling the border of a nearby park, the project is a continuous spiral form that houses its 1200sqm core exhibition hall  and a smaller 600sqm multifunctional hall underground.
